About HACA

HACA began in 1991 from the vision of several Henderson community activists who saw a need for a support net to assist the working poor.  It has grown from operating from the car trunk of one of the founders to an organization with 13 employees, serving over 1800 families each year, made up of over 5000 individuals, and supporting an annual budget of $1.2 million.

Our mission:  HACA’s mission is to change lives by intervening with families to impact poverty and prevent homelessness.  We do this by:  assistance and tools for self-sufficiency; basic forms of assistance to sustain lives; emergency, transitional and subsidized housing; case management service focusing on families, seniors, and individuals, with a goal of keeping families intact.

Our vision:  HACA will be the premiere community leader in providing vital services that prevent homelessness, preserve dignity and promote self-sufficiency.

Our values
